Eckoe Lake
04:10
|
|||
Reflections look just fine tonight of something I should say
hanging in the dreary light that echoes across the lake,
not that I could tell you, not that you should know...
and after all, you wouldn't hear because I'm all alone
looking from a window, staring into you.
Far above the ceiling lamp and the shingling on the roof
out beyond the twisting stars and the pale, frozen moon
looking from a window; can you see me?
Standing there behind you when there's nothing left to say
you look down on the moonlight where it shivers across the lake,
combing through the black night tide with silver jewels beneath your eyes,
standing one floor down beneath the window in the sky.
Open up your window, step into the breeze.
You know it's only cold outside, you won't have to freeze
out beyond the twisting stars and the pale, frozen moon,
stepping from a window; can I see you?
Reflections look just fine tonight of something I should say
hanging in the dreary light that echoes across the lake,
not that I could tell you, not that you should know...
and after all, you wouldn't hear because I'm all alone.

13th Ghost
02:28
|
|||
The 13th ghost, drifting through the cold,
hiding in plain sight again
innocuous and old.
Yeah, just take your time
coming down the line
So easy to forget your guest
where he's wandered from your mind.
Will you wonder how, when comes the 13th hour,
the hands that drag you down again
from your tusken towers?
The 13th ghost, drifting through the cold,
hiding in plain sight again
innocuous and old.

Something Was Missing
02:50
|
|||
She twisted down the stairs, dragging behind an evening dress,
wearing an excited grin which hung down to her neck,
drifting through the hallways, through the butterfly and mothball night
and feeling always in her mind that something was missing.
She will need to align with the dead seed,
satisfy the hunger of the past, she
looks into the eyes of a lingering plague
and sets her sights away from what will be.
Gathering her memories, she packs her bags and grabs her keys
and locks the door behind her when she leaves,
but it didn't have to be this way, it happens like this every day
and I think it's a shame. Who cares what I think?
She speeds along an empty room full of people just like you
hanging from their smiles at the gallows of their ruse,
drifting through these hallways like a catatonic, living maze
feeling always in her daze that something was missing.

The Moon
03:07
|
|||
Direct the sea, but the moon is me
deep beyond its waves I freeze
over glacial ice and fields of rice
and crops that span eternities
pale light in a hurried flight
dances bright inside
the surly tide,
reflections of this quiet eye,
unflinching as the ships capsize:
all hurled into the turning, churning
waters 'neath which hell is burning
in the crimson glint of thermal vents below their drifting purgatory.
Days go by and years deny
the sun for the abyssal kind, but still I sometimes come to them,
no stranger to the blind.

March of the Sea
02:50
|
|||
In the lonely water kingdoms of the sand
the ebb and flight of graying waves
moves over crown-ed heads
and now the harbor's empty,
a procession ascends
marching from the silent depths
to repossess the land.
Their faces all are empty, the houses all are too,
and walking in their silent lines
they draw stone from the tombs
and head back to the drowning sea
with trophies for the tide.
I wish you would believe in dreams, they are so divine.
I wish you would believe in dreams, they are so divine
and when the rain starts down again, I'll be sleeping fine.
I wish you would believe in dreams, they are so divine.

Carlton Heston Atlanta, Georgia
If you're reading this - Gods of the Dead is the good one. Listen to that first if you're going to listen to anything on here. It's actually pretty solid.
Atlanta Monsters' Ball is also nice.
